Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Ten people were injured in a three vehicle accident in Playa del Carmen Friday. Municipal Civil Protection said they provided pre-hospital care to 10 at the scene of the accident, two of whom, were transferred to hospital.

Emergency services were notified of the crash around 7:30 p.m. Friday at Chemuyil Avenue with Playa del Carmen Boulevard. The accident was allegedly caused when one of the involved drivers attempted to merge into traffic from a parking lot.
The merging car was hit by an oncoming vehicle that then hit another driving in the opposite direction. All three involved vehicles were heavily damaged with at least one being a complete write off. Ten people were treated at the scene. Two were taken to hospital, according to Solidaridad Civil Protection and Firefighters.

“In an immediate response action, our paramedics and firefighters provided emergency medical care to 10 injured as a result of a car crash. After receiving the report through 9-1-1, the rescue personnel arrived at Chemuyil Avenue with Playa del Carmen Boulevard, where three vehicles had crashed.

“They immediately provided pre-hospital care to 10 injured people, two of whom were taken to the hospital by ambulance. We work for your well-being and safety, always ready to provide you with care,” said Protección Civil, Prevención de Riesgos y Bomberos de Solidaridad.
