Bacalar, Q.R. — Civil Protection personnel responded to a late night snake report that was seen laying on a busy roadway. On Saturday night, a Civil Protection officer arrived at 7th Avenue and 30th Street in the town of Bacalar after a motorcyclist spotted the reptile.

The area resident stopped his motorcycle after seeing a boa constrictor taking its time crossing the street. The good samaratian was able to alert oncoming motorists to the boa’s presence until authorities arrived.
Both Municipal Police and Civil Protection officers were notified of the meandering snake on the dark road. An officer from Civil Protection arrived and was able to capture the snake for relocation.
According to the unnamed officer, the snake was approximately one meter in length and was moved to a different area away from traffic.
