More than 4.7 million use Quintana Roo ferry services first half of year

Cozumel, Q.R. — Alicia Ricalde Magaña, who heads the Integral Port Administration of Quintana Roo (Apiqroo), has released figures that show over four million people have used state ferry services already this year.

Ricalde Magaña says the state of Quintana Roo has registered more than 4.7 million passengers in the first half of this year, through the maritime terminals it manages in Cozumel-Playa del Carmen and Cancun-Isla Mujeres.

The fiscal dock of Isla Mujeres registered the highest figure in the first six months of this 2022, with 2,944,985 passengers from January to June, while in Cozumel 1,771,000 ferry users were registered during the same period, totaling 4,715,991 ferry passengers between both terminals.

These passengers, she reported, have moved through the routes that connect Cozumel and Playa del Carmen and Isla Mujeres with Puerto Juárez, operated by companies that provide the services of keeping both islands connected with the continental zone of Quintana Roo.
