Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Mayor Lili Campos says more than 100 security cameras have already been installed around Playa del Carmen that will soon be connected to the C5 in Cancun.
In an interview, Campos said there are already 38 officers trained in C5 use. She also said that the municipality of Solidaridad has more patrol cars without specifying an amount, but did add that more units and equipment will be added in November.
Campos pointed out that there is a current recruitment call for police officers in the municipality, which is a long process since interested parties must meet certain standards and pass tests.
Earlier this week, governor Carlos Joaquin made reference to the fact the security cameras of Playa del Carmen had been taken down in certain areas of the city, but did not elaborate or speculate as to why.
