More Cuba to Cancun flights announced after successful tourism fair

Cancun, Q.R. — The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico says Aeromar has agreed to increase its weekly flights from Havana. The airline will begin offering five flights per week, up from its current three.

Miguel Torruco Marqués, the head of Mexico’s tourism agency, says the increase in flights will begin in coming weeks and that as of June 1, Aeromar will also open a new Cancun-Varadero route.

That new route, he says, will land at the Cancun International Airport twice a week. His announcement came during the recent FITCuba 2022 tourism fair in Varadero. Torruco highlighted the importance of air connectivity as well as the strengthening of ties in tourism with countries such as Cuba.
