Playa del Carmen, Q. R. — A man who fled the scene of a shooting has been captured by Playa del Carmen police. The man, identified as Victor E, was arrested after police began a search for his whereabouts regarding the shooting of another man in central Playa del Carmen.
The shooting happened at a centrally located hotel Wednesday night when, at around 10:30 p.m., police were alerted to a firearm assault. When they arrived at the scene, they found one man with a bullet wound to his leg.
Before being transferred to hospital, the man, identified as 24-year-old Pablo N from Guadalajara, was able to provide a detailed description of his attacker. Police were successful in locating the shooter, 28-year-old Victor E from Monterrey who fled when he saw police. While fleeing, police saw him toss an item, which when retrieved, turned out to be a gun.
After a brief chase, Victor N was taken into custody. He was positively identified by Pablo N and arrested.
