Mexico seizes 225 kilos of cocaine from Colombian ship

Cd Madero, Tamaulipas — The Secretariat of the Navy of Mexico reports that naval personnel, in coordination with the Maritime Terminal of Altamira, Tamaulipas, seized 225 kilos of cocaine from inside the hull of a ship.

The cocaine was found wrapped into 227 packages with an approximate weight of 225 kilograms inside the UBC Savannah from Barranquilla, Colombia.

The seizure was the result of an inspection at the Maritime Terminal of Altamira when, after removing cargo, navy personnel made the discovery of the hidden cocaine.

The drugs were seized and transferred to the FGR facilities in Tampico, Tamaulipas.
