Mexico extradites two men wanted in Texas courts

Mexico City, Mexico — Two men wanted in separate U.S. courts were extradited Wednesday. The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) of Mexico City reported that Jesús “O”, who was wanted in Gillespie County, Texas, has been handed over to American authorities.

The FGR says that Jesús “O” was wanted by the Texas district court for sexual abuse and sexual assault against a minor. Jesús “O” was taken into Mexican custody in 2021 in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato on an outstanding arrest warrant and has been held in the Northern Men’s Preventive Prison in Mexico City since.

José “R”, who was wanted in the Harris County District Court of Texas, has also been handed over to U.S. authorities. On Wednesday, José “R” was extradited to the United States on murder charges.

José “R” was taken into Mexican custody in Los Chilares, Villa de Guadalupe, San Luis Potosí, in 2022 and transferred to the South Men’s Preventive Prison in Mexico City where he remained until Wednesday.

Both men were transferred to the International Airport of Mexico City (AICM), to U.S. agents designated for their transfer to that country.
