Mexico extradites Italian fugitive wanted since 2015

Mexico City, Mexico — In compliance with the Extradition Treaty signed between Mexico and the Republic of Italy, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) extradited Italian national Mauro “R”.

Mauro “R”, considered a fugitive, was wanted by the Court of Appeal of Ancona for car theft, aggravated robbery, robbery with violence, threats to persons, aggravated personal injury and extortion.

Mauro “R” stole various items on different dates. In January 2015, he stole a vehicle that was parked on a public road and in April of the same year, he was arrested in flagrante delicto for committing aggravated robbery of an elderly person, taking his wallet and threatening him so that he would hand over his vehicle and sign a document acknowledging a non-existent debt in favor of the extraditable.

For the above reasons, the Government of Mexico granted the extradition of the defendant to the Government of the Italian Republic, after this person was arrested in July of this year, in Huatulco, Oaxaca.

The fugitive was handed over at Mexico City International Airport (AICM) to the Italian agents.
