Mexico extradites citizen to California to face drug and money laundering charges

Mexico City, Mexico — A Mexican national wanted by US authorities has been extradited to the state of California. On Saturday, Alberto “R” was handed over to American agents who transferred him to the Southern District of California.

Alberto “R” was wanted by the state of California on drug and money laundering charges. According to the State Attorney General of the Republic, Alberto “R” was a member of an organization dedicated to drug trafficking from 2005 to 2014.

He was responsible for smuggling methamphetamine from Mexico into the United States. In addition, he coordinated the transportation of the profits obtained from the sale of drugs in the US to be sent to Mexico.

He was handed over at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) to American agents for his transfer to the US.
