Mexico extradites Argentinian wanted for fraud in excess of 10 million peso

Mexico City, Mexico — An Argentinian man wanted for fraud has been delivered to authorities in Buenos Aires. On Sunday, the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) reported the extradition of Sergio “L” from the Mexico City International Airport.

According to the FGR, Sergio “L” was wanted in Buenos Aires for fraud in excess of 10 million pesos. “Between 2013 and 2014, Sergio “L” made purchases of functional units of a trust located in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in his capacity as seller on behalf of a company.

“The amount of the operations amounted to approximately 10 million pesos. The defendant did not report this to the company in question, so he never delivered the monetary amount,” they reported.

Sergio “L” was extradited in compliance with the Extradition Treaty signed between Mexico and the Republic of Argentina. He was wanted by the National Criminal and Correctional Court in the City of Buenos Aires for the crime of fraud by fraudulent administration. Mexican authorities did not say how long Sergio “L” had been hiding in Mexico.
