Mexican fugitive handed over to Argentinian authorities

Mexico  City, Mexico — A Mexican man wanted by authorities in Argentina has been extradited from the country. On Tuesday, José “G” was handed over to Argentinian authorities for his return to the country to face a multitude of charges.

According to the State Attorney General of the Republic (FGR), José “G” has been wanted in Argentina since 2009 for drug, criminal association and money laundering offences.

The fugitive, of Mexican nationality, was wanted by the National Criminal and Correctional Court of Buenos Aires for illicit association, money laundering of criminal origin and illegal drug trafficking.

“Between 2005 and 2009, José “G” was the leader of a criminal organization that illegally marketed ephedrine hydrochloride. He was in charge of negotiating with Argentine suppliers of ephedrine, ordering the transfer of the drug and managing and concealing the profits from these illegal activities for which he acquired properties and vehicles in Argentina.

“He was arrested in 2020 in the state of Puebla, and after the FGR’s efforts, the Government of Mexico granted the extradition of the defendant to the Government of the Argentine Republic.” the FGR reported.
