Merida subject arrested for Playa del Carmen mugging investigated for robberies

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Solidaridad police have arrested a man for a mugging and possible convenience store related robberies. On Friday, the Municipal Police arrested a subject for the possible crime of robbery with violence after allegedly threatening two people with a knife and stealing their belongings.

Elements of the Preventive Police responded to a call from a citizen. After a search, police caught up with with a male running along CTM Avenue and 115th. He was located with a knife in his hand.

After speaking with him and get him to drop the knife, the officers found cash and other items among his belongings that were recognized by the victims. Taken into custody was 28-year-old Didier “N” from Merida.

Didier “N” is being investigated for his possible involvement in local convenience store robberies.
