Cancun, Q.R. — Authorities from the state of Yucatan have arrested a man wanted in connection to a Cancun murder. Over the weekend, Efrén “C” was taken into police custody in the city of Merida on an outstanding arrest warrant.

He was wanted in relation to the July 30 murder of a Cancun woman. According to the State Attorney General’s Office of Quintana Roo, Efrén “C”, the defendant who was a parcel driver, traveled with the victim from Cancun to Merida in July of this year.

After she was not heard from, “relatives began to search for the victim. Third parties told them about the discovery of the body of a woman on the Merida-Cancun highway. They went to the Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office to identify the body,” the FGE detailed.
