Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Playa del Carmen taxi driver was shot Saturday morning in the Las Palmas II subdivision. The shooting was reported by neighbors around 6:00 a.m. after gunfire was heard.
Preliminary reports say the taxi driver had just left his home to begin a shift when he was intercepted by armed men and shot. Paramedics arrived and transferred the taxi driver to hospital where he arrived with one gunshot wound to this cheek.
Those responsible fled. The area was sealed while investigative police lifted shell casings. The taxi was towed to the State Attorney General’s Office.
