José María Morelos, Q.R. — A new director for public security has been appointed for the municipality of José María Morelos. Its mayor, Sofía Alcocer, announced the new appointment who she named as Abraham Oliva Alamilla.
Oliva Alamilla will be the new General Director of Public Security. During the announcement, the mayor stated that she hoped he will produce better results, referring to the ongoing insecurity issues experienced over the past few weeks under the former head.
The new director General de Seguridad Pública highlighted his career in police corporations as director in Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Tulum as well as undersecretary of the then-called Sistema Estatal de Seguridad Pública.
The new director replaces Commander Alfredo Néstor Ordóñez Arzate, who recently resigned from office.
