Mayor announces 181 million on Solidaridad work projects

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Over 181 million peso is being spent on 45 projects around the municipality of Solidaridad. Mayor Lili Campos Miranda reports the projects include work on roads, absorption wells, rehabilitation of sports units, parks, pedestrian crossings, lighting, bus stops and offices, among others.

“The projects bring social benefit to the entire population of Solidaridad and a better environment for our visitors. Some of the projects have been started while others are about to start next week. To date, 19 of them have been contracted, while eight are in the bidding process and 18 to be tendered,” Campos detailed.

Projects being done include hydraulic concrete paving on 10th Avenue between Juárez and Constituyentes and Constituyentes Avenue between 10th, South Avenue between 115 and 75, 70 Avenue between Constituyentes and 34 North Street, among others.

One hundred additional absorption wells will be built at critical points identified by Municipal Public Services, Firefighters, Civil Protection and the affected citizens.

Fabián Herrera Quian, Undersecretary of Infrastructure and Public Works, pointed out that several bus stops will be rehabilitated. In addition to this, the bidding process on the construction of pedestrian crossings in various parts of the municipality continues.

A new municipal crematorium will also be built. The Diana Laura Riojas municipal market is part of the projects, and is scheduled for rehabilitation along with several sports units around the city of Playa del Carmen and Puerto Aventuras.
