Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The general director of the Municipal Public Security of Solidaridad, Martín Estrada Sánchez, has resigned and in his place is Lieutenant Jorge Robles Aguilar.
The resignation of Martín Estrada Sánchez comes one day after the presidential visit to the city. In his public announcement, Estrada Sánchez said his resignation was voluntary. Without specifying the reason for his resignation, Martín Estrada took to social networks to say “Today, I present my voluntary waiver to the position of General Director of Security Public and Transit. I greatly appreciate your support at the time.”
The mayor of Playa del Carmen, Laura Beristain Navarrete, accepted the voluntary resignation of Estrada Sánchez from the position of General de Seguridad Pública y Tránsito Municipal de Solidaridad.
The resignation comes one day after the visit of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and within the framework of the consolidation of the single command decreed by the governor of Quintana Roo, Carlos Joaquín González.
