Manzanillo, Colima — A Manzanillo fisherman who had been missing eight days was found alive. According to Colima authorities, Erasmo Zúñiga, who was one of two fishermen aboard vessel Camila I, was found alive on the boat. However, his partner David Alejandro “V”, has not yet been found.
On Wednesday, State Civil Protection reported that the vessel Camila I was located Tuesday at 12:31 p.m. with fisherman Erasmo Zúñiga on board and alive. Camila I was finally found during a search by a group of local fishermen in coordination with state Civil Protection and the Navy.
The pair were reported missing December 21 after failing to return home. According to Zúñiga, they experienced engine issues which prevented them from reaching shore. His fishing partner David Alejandro “V” jumped into the sea to swim to the coast for help but did not make it. His body has not yet been found.
