Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The man rescued by paramedics after jumping from a Playa del Carmen overpass has died. The unnamed man was rushed to hospital Tuesday morning after making the leap from the city bridge.
According to sources, the area resident died in hospital shortly before 3:00 p.m. from a series of injuries sustained from the jump. The incident happened early Tuesday from the 66th Street overpass.
Motorists using the overpass reported the man to 9-1-1. When emergency services arrived, they found him laying unconsciousness on the pavement below. Authorities have not speculated on a reason for the jump.
