Man wanted on four counts of murder in Kansas arrested in Mexico

Morelia, Michoacán — The Attorney General of the State of Michoacán says they have arrested a man wanted by the FBI on four counts of murder.

La Fiscalía General del Estado de Michoacán (FGE) reports the detainment of Hugo Alberto V. who is wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for crimes in Wyandotte County, Kansas.

In their press release, the FGE says the arrest warrant was issued from Wyandotte County, Kansas when, on October 6, 2019, at approximately 1:24 a.m., officers from the Kansas City Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in a bar.

Upon arrival, officers located nine shooting victims, four of whom died. On that same day, an arrest warrant from Wyandotte County, Kansas was issued for Hugo Alberto V., charged with four counts of first-degree murder.

On October 8, 2019, the United States District Court issued a federal arrest warrant for the District of Kansas after Hugo Alberto V. was charged with an illegal flight to avoid prosecution.

Hugo Alberto V. will be handed over to United States authorities.
