Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man wanted for the murder of a woman in Oaxaca has been arrested in Playa del Carmen. The detained, Armando N, is alleged to have participated in the 2019 murder of a woman, Estela N whose body was discovered two days after her disappearance.
On Saturday, the State Attorney General’s Office and agents from Oaxaca located Armando, who they report was working in Riviera Maya. Armando was arrested Saturday night by police from the FGE Quintana Roo. He was located inside a private home. He has since been transferred back to Oaxaca to face charges.
In November of 2019, then 39-year-old Estela N went missing after leaving her home for a morning drive to work. Her body was located two days later, on November 29, by passersby in the town of Valdeflores de Zimatlán de Álvarez. Her white pickup was later found abandoned on a dirt road several kilometers away.
One person, a man, was arrested, however, the second person believed involved, Armando N, had been successful in eluding capture.
