Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man wanted for the 2019 murder of his Playa del Carmen girlfriend has been arrested in Oaxaca. In a statement, the FGE of Oaxaca reported the arrest of 42-year-old Guillermo N.
The agency said that his arrest was a coordinated operation between the State Investigation Agency (AEI) of Oaxaca and the Attorney General of Quintana Roo. Guillermo N is accused of stabbing his then-girlfriend, Erika N, to death before dismembering her.
Her body was found inside plastic bags that were stuffed into a suitcase. The suitcase was located on a public residential street in Playa del Carmen by area neighbors in June of 2019.
Guillermo N was arrested from a public street in the city of Oaxaca Wednesday after being on the run for nearly three years.
