Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man was able to walk away from his car after it was impaled by a guardrail. The accident happened Friday afternoon approximately 10 kilometers south of Playa del Carmen.
It is not clear how the driver and sole occupant of the company vehicle lost control and became skewered on the metal highway rail. Police and paramedics arrived to deal with the accident that caused a long line of traffic congestion.
Responding medical personnel treated the man on scene after he was able to walk out of his vehicle and into the highway median before being transferred to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
