Man third on Mexico’s most wanted list apprehended in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The Secretariat for Citizen Security and Protection has reported the arrest of 39-year-old Fausto N, identified as a member of organized crime and one of the most wanted in Mexico.

The alleged drug trafficker was apprehended in Playa del Carmen while traveling aboard a Chevrolet Malibu. The vehicle was pulled over after police noticed the driver acting suspicious.

Inside was a second man, 33-year-old Alfonso N. He too, was taken into police custody. Both were transferred to police facilities in Cancun by escort of the National Guard.

Fausto N, who is from Palenque, Chiapas, is linked to the Zetas criminal group and is wanted for drug trafficking in Chiapas, Veracruz and Tabasco. Reports say he lives in Mérida, Yucatán and is third on Mexico’s most wanted list.
