Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A subject who was shot to death in the Catalonia II subdivision of Playa del Carmen is said to be a member of city council. The man, whose name has not been released, was shot after leaving a convenience store.
According to preliminary information, the shooter approached the man. Words were exchanged before bullets were fired. Those responsible then fled aboard a white car. Arrests were not made.
The man is reported to have been a prosecutor of the Solidaridad City Council, who was the right hand of the inspection director. He was was leaving the store around 12:30 a.m. when he was attacked.
Witnesses called Emergency 911 who sent municipal police to the scene. Upon their arrival, they found the man had already died.
