Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Police attending a report of domestic violence in a private Playa del Carmen home were threatened by a man from inside. On Tuesday, the Seguridad Pública y Tránsito of Solidaridad (SSC) reported that Juan “N” was arrested after attempting to attack them with knives.
Officers responding to the report arrived at the home on Kantunilkín Street where a woman pointed out Juan “N”, 30 from Chiapas, as her alleged attacker. While being identified by the woman, Juan “N” ran out of the house armed with two knives he used to threaten the officers.
According to the SSC report, “the subject left the house and threatened the officers with two knives, trying to injure them.” After being dissuaded, Juan “N” threw his knives and tried to escape by running. He was captured by police and taken into custody.
The woman is being supported by the Specialized Group for Attention to Family Violence and from GEAVIG.
