Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man was shot to death in broad daylight Tuesday morning in front of a supermarket in the far west side of Playa del Carmen.
The shooting happened around 11:00 a.m. in front of a grocery store along Arco Vial in the Ejido neighborhood. Reports say that the man was shot several times while sitting inside his vehicle, which was parked outside the store.
Witnesses say the man’s vehicle was shot at numerous times by another in a Nissan Sentra. The woman who had accompanied the victim managed to flee the car and run to safety unharmed. Police arrived only to find the man had already died. Eight bullet casings were found at the scene.
Paramedics were not called. There were no arrests.
