Man home delivers pizzas despite flooded streets

Villahermosa, Tabasco — Despite the severe flooding of Villahermosa, a man waded through chest-deep water to ensure his pizzas were delivered. His clients posted photos of his delivery method, using a tub to float the two large pizzas as he waded through the street to their address.

The heroic pizza delivery man has been identified as Don Rodolfo Jiménez. His efforts in providing a little normal during the intense flooding has gone viral across social media.

In an interview with Tabasco media, Don Rodolfo said that he works for his family business, Pizzas JJ, which started operating only two months ago. He explained that since they do not have a restaurant, for now, they only offer home delivery.

His son Julián makes the pizzas and he, Don Rodolfo, delivers them, but the route is not always easy since the subdivision is flooded. “It’s difficult because of the floods, not just that, rumors have been heard that there is a lizard around here.”

He said that they had stopped offering their service due to the floods, but so many people are trapped in their homes and have requested the home delivery service, since they are one of the few food options they have.
