Man from State of Mexico arrested in Playa del Carmen for uttering death threats with fake gun

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man from the State of Mexico was arrested in Playa del Carmen Monday after issuing death threats. The man, identified as Alejandro N, was arrested by police after receiving a 911 report from woman who said the man came to her work and threatened to kill her.

The unidentified woman, who works at a Playa del Carmen securities firm, told police that the man entered her place of employment where he presented a gun and threatened to kill her. He then fled in a motorcycle taxi.

When the woman made her report to police, she was able to provide them with the number of the mototaxi he used to flee. Police began a search for the unit, which they quickly located on Loros Avenue.

Once stopped, an inspection of his person revealed the weapon, which was deemed to be a fake gun. Police proceeded to arrest 28-year-old Alejandro N, originally from the State of Mexico, for uttering death threats.
