Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man from Japan is being held in Playa del Carmen on drug charges after being found in possession of marijuana. The 37-year-old was arrested Tuesday morning when police patrolling an area of centro noticed him handling a bag.
When seeing police, the man fled. He was intercepted and an investigatory search of his person performed. Police located eight bags of marijuana, one container of marijuana and a bag of seeds in a backpack he was carrying.
Arrested in Colonia Centro from 1st Street and 10th Avenue was 37-year-old Wakahara N from Japan. Police did not detail if the man was a resident or a visitor.
