Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — An American man was arrested at a federal police filter after he was found in possession of a firearm. The man, identified as 41-year-old Joe N, was taken into custody after being pulled over at a Playa del Carmen police filter.
A search of his person revealed the gun and ammunition inside a fanny pack that he wore around his waist. According to a statement from the Solidaridad Public Security Secretariat, an English-speaking translator was brought in during the arrest.
He was taken into police custody and transferred to the Attorney General’s Office (FGE) for the corresponding procedure.
