Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — National Guard responding to a highway emergency call in Playa del Carmen Monday found a man dead. The emergency 911 call was made by passing motorists who witnessed the man fall.
According to preliminary information, the male driver of a small utility truck was traveling near Punta Maroma when he pulled over and began flagging down help. The man was able to say he was having a heart attack before collapsing.
Motorists who stopped to help requested assistance through 911. National Guard and paramedics were sent to the scene where they found the man dead. He collapsed on the ground outside his driver’s side door.
An autopsy will determine the official cause of his death.
