Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The State Attorney General’s Office reports the arrest of a man for the alleged sexual violation of a female in a Riviera Maya hotel.
According to a report from la Fiscalía General del Estado, the victim of an alleged sexual assault filed a complaint against Baruk N from an incident that happened in a Riviera Maya hotel September 6. In the complaint, Baruk N, of foreign origin, was accused of sexually abusing a woman.
A friend of the woman’s notified hotel security who then notified police. In interviews, police collaborated the complaint with witnesses. When Baruk N was presented before the judge, sufficient evidence was found to decree the legal detention of Baruk N.
The presiding judge insured the informal pretrial detention of the detainee. The name of the victim was not released.
