Lynx Air expands into Mexico with first direct Cancun flights

Cancun, Q.R. — A new low-cost airline has announced flights into Cancun International beginning early 2024. Lynx Air (Lynx), Canada’s ultra-affordable airline, announced its expansion into Mexico, connecting Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) with Cancun International Airport (CUN).

Cancun will be Lynx’s first destination in Mexico with flights taking off from Toronto starting February 15, 2024. The expansion will be Lynx’s third country in its growing network and Cancun will mark its 18th destination.

Canada’s leading ultra-affordable airline took to the skies for the first time in 2022, with a vision to inspire more Canadians to fly by offering a great flying experience at an ultra-affordable price, the airline reported in a press release.

“With winter approaching, we know Canadians love to travel south in search of warmer weather and sandy beaches. We are thrilled to be offering an ultra-affordable option to Cancun, one of the most popular sun destinations in Mexico,” said Vijay Bathija, Chief Commercial Officer of Lynx.

“Demand for Cancun continues to be incredibly high for passengers travelling from Toronto Pearson,” said Janik Reigate, Director, Strategic Customer Relationships, GTAA.

“We welcome Lynx’s new service as it will provide passengers with another option to fly to the sunny beaches of Mexico.”

Lynx will fly into Cancun from Toronto five days per week starting February 15, 2024.
