Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Solidaridad officers along with city firemen were called to Fifth Avenue early Saturday morning after reports of a fire. At the scene, authorities found a small fire burning at the entrance to a business.
Playa del Carmen firemen took only minutes to put out the flames with extinguishers which left a front section of the building scorched. The fire is being treated as intentional. The fire was reported to emergency services around 2:30 a.m.
In a briefing, the Secretaría de Protección Civil, Prevención de Riesgos y Bomberos de Solidaridad (SPC) Solidaridad said “we responded to a report about a fire in an establishment on 5th. Avenue.
“Operational elements activated PQS fire extinguishers to extinguish the fire and cordoned off the area to prevent the passage of people and thus avoid an accident.”
