K9 police dog marks American woman’s Jimny positive during PDC traffic stop

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — An American woman reported to be a resident of Playa del Carmen has been arrested for drug dealing. Karla “N”, 28, was stopped by police in central Playa del Carmen Wednesday for a traffic violation.

She was pulled over while driving her Suzuki Jimny along 5th Street south. While police were talking with her, their K9 dog marked her vehicle positive as containing something illegal.

During an inspection, police found 11 bags of drugs. She was arrested for drug dealing.

In a statement, the SSC (Seguridad Ciudadana Solidaridad) or Citizen Security of Solidaridad reported “Municipal Police of Solidaridad detained a person in possession of possible narcotics as part of the prevention actions against this crime.

“Traffic officers who were circulating on the federal highway at the height of 5 Sur Street, stopped the driver of a Suzuki Jimny model vehicle for a violation of the Traffic Regulations.

“A K9 officer made an alert marking her vehicle after approaching. After a security inspection the officers seized 11 packages with possible narcotics.

“For the above, Karla “N” 28 years old, originally from the United States was placed at the disposal of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for a crime in the form of drug dealing.”
