Judicial mandate sees man detained for rape in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The Attorney General of the State of Quintana Roo reports the capture of Iván H for the crime of rape to the detriment of a victim of reserved identity in compliance with a judicial mandate.

Their first investigations establish that Iván H is a probable participant in events that occurred on August 24, when a woman was raped inside her hotel room located in the central neighborhood of Playa del Carmen.

Reports say 33-year-old Iván H, who is originally from Toluca, was involved in the rape of a 21-year-old female from Michoacán.

Investigative Police arrested the accused in the Villamar I neighborhood. He was later placed at the disposal of the judge to face criminal proceedings. He remains in preventive detention.
