Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A judge has sentenced a man to 50 years for the murder of a Playa del Carmen minor. Emmanuel “N” was sentenced Monday “for the crime of femicide against a minor in events that occurred on June 26, 2022,” authorities have said in a statement.
The minor girl was killed “when Emmanuel “N” was at her home located in the Villas del Sol subdivision, where, taking advantage of the family proximity with the victim and that the mother was not at home, he committed the crime of rape. After this, he took her life and set her on fire,” the statement read.
A judge issued the guilty verdict against Emmanuel “N” and imposed the maximum penalty of 50 years in prison, as well as a fine in the amount of 288,660 pesos, in addition to the reparation of material damage, for the amount of 864,350 pesos and reparation of moral damage for 112,000 pesos.
