Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Two men have each been sentenced to 31 years in prison for the murder of a Solidaridad police officer. On Saturday, a judge sentenced both Marco Antonio “N” and Erick Alejandro “N” for the 2021 shooting death.
“The events for which they were sentenced occurred on the night of March 11, 2021, outside a commercial premises located on 125th Avenue by CTM, where they took the life of a male who was inside a municipal patrol car,” the State Attorney General (FGE) reported in a statement.
“Marco Antonio “N” was in charge of driving the motorcycle in which he was traveling with the person who shot the victim to later flee into the woods where Erick Alejandro “N” was waiting for them, aboard a taxi to escape from the scene.”
At their hearing, the judge sentenced them to 31 years in prison for the murder of the Playa del Carmen police officer as well compensation for material damages in the amount of 708,500 pesos and 96,000 pesos for moral damages.
