Holbox, Q.R. — The first week of the Easter holiday season has seen the island of Holbox near capacity reports island head, Idelfonso Cetina Alcocer. He says that tourist activity on the island has reached 90 percent during the first week, adding that he is hoping the flow will continue into the second week.
Alcoer says the flow of tourists to the island has been great for the area’s economic reactivation. He explained that visitors began to arrive last week, but that it was toward the weekend when thousands began to fill their reservations.
Both national and international visitors have filled the island’s hotels and utilized its service providers. Alcocer stressed that all health protocols are being implemented on the island as established by health authorities.
After a bad year due to the pandemic, he says everything indicates that the tourist activity has been reactivated with the 90 percent tourist flow, allowing all providers to have employment.
