Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A clandestine garbage dump hidden in the jungle between the Marseille and Las Palmas II subdivisions of Playa del Carmen had local firemen busy trying to get it under control as wind gusts worked against them.
Smoke could be seen for several kilometers as the unmanned garbage dump burned everything in its path due to the strong gusts of wind that have arrived with the new cold front.
The fire was successfully managed by elements of the H. Fire Department who, were able to extinguish flames before the fire became any larger. Authorities say the fire is completely under control.
