Holbox, Q.R. — A 23 year old islander was found shot dead off a Holbox beach Tuesday. The fatal shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. on the island’s northwestern side.
The body of Loren Aldiar “M” was found near a beach area of Playa Holbox at Damero Street and Chachi Street after patrolling officers were notified of the shooting by Maricruz “G”, a family member.
Holbox police found the man had been shot in the chest. Near his body they located his black motorcycle without license plates and a 9mm shell casing. The now-deceased was making a delivery and had his family member with him on the motorcycle when he was intercepted and shot.
According to the witness, two men on a motorcycle shot her cousin before riding off. The man was originally from the state of Oaxaca. Holbox authorities have not reported publicly on the fatal attack.
