Holbox, Q.R. — Firemen on the island of Holbox spent just over two hours extinguishing flames that completely devoured an island hotel. The fire reportedly broke out at 8:30 p.m. Friday, and quickly spread throughout the establishment.
Within a short time, the two story hotel was completely consumed by flames. Island residents assisted firemen and Civil Protection, who arrived to quash the shooting flames that could be seen for several blocks.
Municipal authorities have confirmed that the affected property was the Flamingos Hotel, adding that as of yet, the cause for the fire remains unknown. There were no reported injuries.
