Highway collision between motorcycle and bus leaves two dead

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Two people riding the federal highway as part of a group of motorcyclists were killed over the weekend. A man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene after colliding with a bus.

The accident happened Saturday afternoon on the federal highway north of Playa del Carmen. They were part of a group of motorcyclists heading for the Riviera Maya city when they struck the bus.

The driver of the bus was in the middle of a highway return when the driver of the motorcycle collided with the right side of the large unit. Due to the speed in which the bike was traveling, the driver did not have time to stop.
