Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — An argument on a central Playa del Carmen street has left one person dead. A man involved in the argument was left for dead after being shot several times by the person he was arguing with.
Municipal officers were at the 2nd Street location at the beach in response to 9-1-1 reports. Area residents reported seeing two men in a very heated argument when one pulled out a gun and repeatedly shot the other before running off.
Red Cross paramedics pronounced the shot man dead at the scene Wednesday night. Authorities cordoned off the area to gather evidence where at least three shell casings were lifted from the street. The deceased has not been identified. Police have not announced the arrest of any suspects.
