Costa Maya, Q.R. — A two car crash Monday on a Costa Maya highway left one dead and two injured. The accident was reported Monday afternoon along a stretch of Cafetal-Mahahual road.
According to preliminary information, one of the involved vehicles invaded the oncoming lane. The two cars crashed head on at highway speed. Witnesses told authorities that one of the cars rolled and the second slammed into trees before finally coming to a stop in the ditch.
One person was found deceased on scene, while two others were transferred to hospital with undisclosed injuries. The name of the deceased was not released.
