Gulf Cartel founder extradited to U.S. to face drug and money laundering charges in Texas court

Mexico City, Mexico — The alleged founder and leader of the Gulf Cartel criminal organization in Mexico has been extradited to the U.S. On Monday, Nazario “C” was handed over to U.S. authorities after being on the DEA’s Most Wanted list.

In a news brief, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) reported the extradition of Nazarion “C” where he was wanted in a Texas District Court on charges of criminal association, organized crime and money laundering.

Between 1995 and 2010, Nazario “C”, was allegedly the leader and founder of the Gulf Cartel, an organization dedicated to drug trafficking and money laundering as well as heading the introduction of large quantities of drugs into the United States.

Nazario “C” was handed over to American agents at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) for his transfer to the United States.
