Group of armed out of state drug dealers captured in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Playa del Carmen police arrested an armed group of out of state drug dealers. The arrests were made in the Ejido area of the city Monday. Patrolling police saw the group exchanging bags of what was believed to be narcotics on a street. All four made a run for it when they saw the patrol unit, however, they were captured and arrested.

According to police, they were found in possession of narcotics and loaded weapons. All four have been identified as being from out of state.

“The Playa del Carmen Citizen Security Secretariat, in coordination with various federal and state authorities, arrested four individuals for alleged drug crimes and violations of the Federal Law on Firearms and Explosives. They were found with two firearms and various packages of suspected narcotics in the Ejido neighborhood.

“During a coordinated surveillance operation, municipal police observed four individuals exchanging small bags of suspected narcotics. The individuals attempted to flee upon noticing the police presence.

“After catching up with them and conducting a preventive inspection, they were seized with various packages of suspected narcotics, as well as two loaded firearms, two vehicles with Tamaulipas license plates and four cell phones.

“Arturo “N” and Arturo “N”, both from Tampico, Jesús “N” from Tabasco and Luis Ignacio “N”, originally from San Luis Potosí, were arrested and placed at the disposal of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office.”
