Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Five men and two women were arrested by Solidaridad police Monday after being found with drugs, loaded weapons and police paraphernalia. The group of 11 were taken into custody along 44th Street in El Pedregal during a routine police tour.
A security review of the group lead police to locate 62 bags of narcotics along with two loaded weapons, a pair of handcuffs, four radios, a scale and two vehicles, one of which was a taxi from the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río union in Playa del Carmen. Police also found them in possession of a Tourist Police shield.
Those arrested ranged in age from 14 to 39 and were noted as being from Tabasco, Veracruz and one person from Querétaro. Only one person in the group, a 21-year-old female, was from Playa del Carmen.
Four from the group were minors, all of whom, were from Tabasco.
